MARS Petcare is the global leader in pet nutrition, with its products sold in over 60 countries. It is a dynamic company with a vast global presence and notable social initiatives. MARS partnered with Interics to come up with a vibrant spatial experience for their pedigree manufacturing plant in Telangana.
It was an especially challenging project as it required a combination of uncompromising rules, regulations, safety measures and vibrant visuals comprising content and achievements of both global and Indian offices.
Interics developed a strategic journey which starts from establishing MARS as a global leader among the external stakeholders, leading to creating an emotional connect with the internal stakeholders. The concept also communicated the global initiatives from an Indian perspective. While working on the strategic part, Interics also excelled in the communication of industry mandates and safety regulations.
Approach
The MARS Group has been a valued client of Interics Designs for some time now. After completing several successful projects together, MARS commissioned Interics to refurbish their existing MARS Petcare factory.
After studying the brand’s core principles, Interics developed a new design language that reflects MARS’s global success while recognizing the local impact. The fresh approach captures the brand’s playful and colorful essence, incorporating photographs of employees with their families to foster a genuine sense of belonging and community within the factory environment.
Solution Areas
Guided by the core positioning ‘A Better World for Pets’, we blended business objectives with cultural elements to create meaningful content. Visual language drew inspiration from happy, healthy pets expressed through fluid strokes and playful animal graphics that reflect the company’s values.
Interics designed communication emphasizing safety, quality, and hygiene critical to Mars’ operations while humanizing these values through
family-oriented messaging. The spatial journey was carefully mapped across zones: Approach (compound wall, entrance, reception), Communication (meeting rooms), Work (office), and Transition (passages, stairways) to the Shop floor, each with tailored content.
Through meticulous project management, we ensured flawless on-site execution, adhering to strict safety and hygiene standards. This included building a local vendor network in Hyderabad, rigorous material sampling, and continuous supervision, translating design intent into reality with precision and accuracy.
Outcome
The environmental branding successfully transformed the Mars Factory into a culturally resonant expression of the brand. By integrating playful graphics and personalised photography featuring employees with their families and pets, showcasing pets as cherished family members, Interics created an emotional narrative that resonates with the workplace. This thoughtful approach strengthened Mars’ global identity while fostering deeper connections with employees, enhancing both brand relevance and workplace pride across the facility.
